Music has proven to be beneficial in calming my feelings; to give back, Moody Tunes© was born. Using my compositions, I’ve designed a tool to help in navigating emotional dysregulation using a Floortime model. The music starts congruent with your current emotional status; once you establish the connection with it, the music shepherds you to a better mental state. The app is also a research instrument. generating data on how music affects the mood, which could reshape how schools and workplaces support individuals, especially those who are neurodiverse. Engaging with music can improve mood, boost socialization, and reduce feelings of isolation. For individuals with dementia, music often triggers memories and improves cognitive abilities. Participating in musical activities enhances the mood, fosters a sense of joy, and reduces agitation, making it a valuable tool for supporting emotional health.
For these reasons, I have been performing at Memory Care units and nursing homes in my community from a very young age. I continue to seek out opportunities to give back.
